A compact square of solid teak, this planter box is 18 inches across, a good size for a small shrub or a pot of herbs by the back door. The wood wears a water-based sealer, and if it stays outside all year it slowly mellows to a soft gray.
Rinse off soil splashes and wash the box now and then with mild soap, water and a soft brush. Left as is, the sealed teak drifts toward gray; teak oil is optional if you prefer the warmer tone.
